Pixel & Prose is a weekly design journal covering UI/UX craft, branding deep-dives, type specimen reviews, and honest commentary on where the visual world is heading.
About the Blog
Pixel & Prose was started in 2019 by creative director Nadia Osei as a personal outlet for the observations that didn't fit in client briefs. What began as a newsletter to 40 friends has grown into one of the web's most-read independent design publications — read by students, senior designers, brand managers, and everyone in between.
Every piece is written with an honest voice, backed by research, and aimed at making design thinking accessible and genuinely interesting — never gatekept, never jargon-filled.
What We Cover
Each week Pixel & Prose covers one of six editorial pillars — rotating so your feed stays fresh and your knowledge stays broad.
Deep dives into interface patterns, interaction design, accessibility standards, and the micro-decisions that make or break a product experience.
Type specimen reviews, variable font guides, editorial typography critiques, and the history of typefaces that shaped visual culture.
Logo redesign post-mortems, brand strategy essays, visual identity critiques, and case studies from agencies and in-house teams.
Component libraries, design tokens, governance models, and real-world stories from teams building systems at scale.
Essays on designer identity, the evolution of creative roles, AI's impact on the discipline, and what it means to make things well.
Honest reviews of design software, workflow optimisation, handoff tools, prototyping methods, and productivity for creative people.

Reader Voices
"Pixel & Prose is the only design newsletter I actually read start to finish every week. Nadia writes with a clarity and conviction that most design discourse badly lacks."
"The Pro archive alone is worth 10x the subscription. I use the type deep-dives as reference material in client presentations. It has genuinely elevated the quality of our team's work."
"I discovered Pixel & Prose as a design student and it shaped how I think about the field more than any textbook. Now I am a junior designer and I still read every issue."
